Welcome to Cbrmamas!

This is a space built for the mums of Canberra to connect, share their stories and seek solidarity in the every day ups and downs of motherhood.

By sharing these stories, we hope to normalise all parts of being a parent and help others build connections within the Canberra community. This is also a place to help mothers find services, share resources and get to know what's happening in their community.

We hope you enjoy!

MEET THE TEAM.

  • YASMIN JOHNSON

Hello! I’m Yas, mama to my sassy little girl Noa, raising her with my other half, Steve. WE also have our fur babies, a cat called Ducky and a Maremma doggo, Opi.

When I’m not wearing my Primary School Teacher hat, you’ll find me eating, travelling, working on projects with Steve and trying to enjoy every facet of life at every opportunity.

You may see me on our socials, gas bagging or chatting to you about Mama Chats, collaborations and Takeovers amongst other things! I’m passionate about providing a safe, real and relatable space for our mama community and I hope that we can continue to build this amazing community to educate, share and connect.

  • Kristen Kelland

Hey, I’m Krissy. A first time mama to my six month old daughter, Tilly. I’m a born and bred Canberran navigating this parenting rollercoaster with my partner Ryan. Before mum life I was running a Communications team. I live for a good cup of coffee, a glass of red and old school music. On a mission to find the best ramen in Canberra.

I am grateful to be able to contribute my love of being a mum with creating content, story telling and building a space for the important conversations.

I’m personally passionate about challenging the stigma around miscarriage as well as raising my daughter in this crazy world to love herself, think she can breath fire and know she can shatter all the glass ceilings.

  • Lauren Brunskill

Hello I’m Lauren! I’m a full time dog mum to two crazy Boxers and mama to Nadia (aka Nadi B) with my husband Aidan. I’m Canberra born and raised, have a degree in Journalism and spent a couple of years in Sydney working in breakfast TV before coming back to Canberra.

I am a music lover (no genre is off limits), amateur basketball player, can’t cook but can clean, and I own an obscene amount of cacti.

I am passionate about providing the community with a place where they can connect with others, find useful resources and hopefully provide you with some laughs along the way so you will see my name pop up in blogs, interviews and socials!
